Medical Assistant I

The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)

Education: H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
• Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• Collects and documents vital signs for general surgery patients
• Enters patient medical history and medication reconciliation into each patient's medical record
• Collects and process patient specimens correctly
• Assist physicians with office-based procedures within MA scope of practice
• Decontamination of instruments and preparation for sterilization in SPD

Compensation and Benefits: The compensation range for this position is $17.12 per hour - $27.73 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
