Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the specific needs and goals of clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.

  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy.

  • Provide ongoing individual counseling that is compassionate, insightful, and tailored to support each client's unique recovery journey.

  • Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions that encourage community support and shared experiences among clients.

  • Work in conjunction with psychiatrists and addiction medicine specialists to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, effectively coordinating treatment plans.

  • Respond to crisis situations with appropriate intervention strategies, offering immediate support during substance-related emergencies.

  • Educate clients and their families about addiction, available resources, and recovery strategies to empower them throughout their treatment process.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date documentation in compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards.

  • Actively engage in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Regularly update knowledge on the latest research and treatment modalities relevant to substance use disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with adults facing challenges related to substance use disorders, who may have co-occurring mental health issues. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, and your role will be critical in building trust and rapport while providing empathetic support as they navigate their recovery.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

  • At least one year of experience in a counseling or direct service role, preferably dealing with addiction or mental health issues.

  • Strong understanding of substance use disorders, evidence-based practices, and recovery-oriented care principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective individual and group therapy sessions.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.

  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred, along with proficiency in necessary computer applications.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team framework.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with telehealth services is a plus.

  • Familiarity with a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques for treating substance use disorders.

  • Previous work in crisis intervention or addiction recovery settings.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, supplemented by potential bonuses. We also offer a competitive sign-on bonus for new hires.
