Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist – Part‑time BioLife is looking for dedicated part‑time phlebotomists to work 4–6 hours a day, 3+ days per week. The role involves greeting donors, performing venipuncture and plasmapheresis, monitoring donors, and supporting day‑to‑day center operations. Responsibilities Greet donors upon arrival and departure. Perform venipuncture and program the plasmapheresis machine. Monitor donors throughout the donation process and manage any donor reactions. Set up, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment within the scope of training. Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines. Stock supplies, break down empty cartons, and assist with proper disposal. Record donor vital signs and other measures (e.g., hematocrit, total protein, weight) and maintain accuracy in the Donor Information System (DIS). Engage donors in the electronic donor questionnaire system. Enter donor information into DIS and process donor compensation using the Debit Card system. Assist center management in identifying operational improvement opportunities and implement changes using 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year customer or patient‑facing experience (helpful). Ability to walk, stand, lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach comfortably for the duration of the shift. Ability to lift up to 5lbs routinely, with occasional lifting up to 32lbs and rarely 50lbs. Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong attention to safety standards, including wearing gloves for 90% of tasks due to potential bloodborne pathogen exposure. Compensation & Benefits Hours: 4–6 hours per day, 3+ days per week (part‑time). Base hourly wage: $17.00, in line with state or local minimum wage requirements.
