Senior Electrical EngineerBAE Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive medium voltage experience to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy facility development, recapitalization, and construction projects. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.Position Description and Responsibilities:Assist in military construction (MILCON) project development, concept power feeder designs, code compliance reviews, constructability reviews and ensuring SSP unique facility related requirements are incorporated into the electrical portion of various design phases of the MILCON projects.Support the Navy Program Manager responsible for Strategic Systems Planning (SSP) Facilities Acquisition at TRIDENT Submarine Bases, primarily at Kings Bay, Georgia and Bangor, Washington.Develop site area single line diagrams, Bill of Materials for power feeder systems of industrial facilities, and the integration of new facilities into the existing on-base electrical power system.Perform technical peer reviews of architectural/engineering (A/E) design submittals, develop unique SSP facility requirements & testing criteria, and perform constructability reviews of A/E produced design submittals.Develop engineering study reports for impacts of new facility load impacts to the existing infrastructure and help coordinate and resolve facility design/integration issues.Contribute to the electrical aspects in the development of comprehensive MILCON documentation (DD1391 forms, equipment estimates, & facility concept infrastructure layout).Engage in working with subcontractors, providing the electrical design direction, and review of site electrical studies, such as power capacity assessments of existing power grids at selected sites for the new infrastructure.Lead the electrical groups development of SSP facility requirements to ensure the constructed facility performs the necessary function of mission.A limited amount of travel to off-site locations will be required on an as needed basis to support studies and design meetings.Generate correspondence to internal/external customers, other BAE sector government property administrators, and other architectural/engineering personnel.Manage and/or support other discipline tasks as needed.Work with and support corporate Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) personnel to maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.About BAE Systems and the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP):Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program's inception in the 1950s. Combined, these factors provide ample opportunity for professional growth and development for capable and talented individuals on our team.Required Education, Experience, & Skills:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited program preferred and at least 6 years of professional design experience OR equivalent education and related facility electrical experience required.Professional experience of electrical power systems of medium voltage systems, substations, switchgear and transformers for at least 15 kV equipment, facility grounding systems, mast and catenary lightning protection systems, site emergency power systems.Professional design experience of medium voltage infrastructure.Professional experience in the development of Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, & Load Calculations.Must be proficient with MS Office Suite programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams.Technical Knowledge and Proficiency:Engineer-in-Training certification or equivalent professional work experience associated with professional engineering licensing requirements.Communication:Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:Professional knowledge and application of standard electrical codes, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, NETA, etc.Professional application of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) for facility design documentation.Experience in the development medium voltage equipment and/or system design; including basis of design documents, drawings, specifications, and calculations per UFC requirements.Professional working experience using of ETAP® or SKM Software.Professional Engineer (PE) license is NOT required, but candidate must be willing to attain a PE license once in the position.Engineer-In-Training certification or equivalent professional experience per Professional Engineer license requirements.Pay Information:Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
