Orthopedic Technician

Provide direct and indirect individualized skilled technical orthopedic care according to medical staff written orders Apply, adjust, maintain, and remove specified orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances Instruct patients and families on use of orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances Assist medical staff in the orthopaedic room, inpatient units, and/or operating room Accept telephone orders from appropriate physicians within scope of responsibility and hospital policies Apply fracture braces on physicians’ written orders Assist with office functions including exam room turnover, data entry, appointment scheduling, and insurance pre-certifications Collaborate with medical staff, office staff, administration, patients, families, and interdepartmental teams Maintain cooperative working relationships and support a team approach to patient care Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required Completion of a formal Orthopedic training program required, or equivalent certification (ASOP) must be obtained within 3 months Previous clinical experience preferred National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists or registration by the American Society of Orthopaedic Professionals preferred Availability to work Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm Primary location is Stratham, with training/coverage expected at low-census Hooksett and Manchester locations Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in providing individualized orthopedic care, including the application and maintenance of orthopedic equipment.
