In response, Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to tackle the complexities of energy resilience and decarbonization to deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future. Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will focus on leading an electrical engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors. You will collaborate with our Client Account Managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm. You’ll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem‑solving skills and to anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery. Qualifications PE is required for this role Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related discipline At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience Professional Engineering licensure (any U.S. state); additional state licenses may be required for particular projects Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, win work and deliver innovative solutions that provide value to both client and provider Demonstrated ability in business growth strategy, including exploration and development of new project opportunities and knowledge of emerging technologies Experience with proposal development and project execution planning, including scope development and man‑hour estimates for engineering services Passion for mentoring and development of junior technical staff Strong communication and technical writing skills Availability to travel as required (typically less than 50%) Availability to work at least 2 days per week in the Gainesville, FL office when not traveling Other Highly Regarded Qualifications Power distribution systems and microgrids Power generation projects exceeding 10 MW capacity HV or MV substations Renewable energy projects (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and other technologies) Energy storage systems Power system modeling using SKM Power Tools, ETAP or similar software Protection and control, SCADA or power system automation Campus utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning Cogeneration or combined heat and power systems Thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water) Benefits Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you and the things you care about. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
