ED Physician Opportunity At VA San Diego Healthcare System

The VA San Diego Healthcare System is looking for an experienced emergency department physician. This position is located at 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego, CA 92161. The role involves providing immediate medical evaluation, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and/or referral of patients who present for care in the ED. The physician will also provide professional advice to other VA providers concerning the management of patients in their fast-track portion of the Emergency Department.

The emergency room care provided will typically include major trauma, major medical emergencies, obstetrical emergencies, pediatric emergencies, acute psychiatric problems, lower-acuity complaints, and other miscellaneous medical problems, both acute and chronic.

Requirements for this position include an unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or Territory, board certification or eligibility in emergency medicine with at least two years of full-time ER experience in a high-volume ED, an MD or DO degree, a current DEA, and current certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS by way of an American Heart training program (AHA or Red Cross).
