Job Title: Cardiothoracic Surgeon
Location: VAMC Atlanta
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Surgery

Competitive salary: $400K–$600K annually , based on experience

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Completion of a General Surgery residency and Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship.
Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Proven experience in cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage complex surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and diagnose patients with cardiothoracic conditions.
Perform complex surgical procedures including open-heart surgery, lung resections, and thoracic aneurysm repairs.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgical nurses, and other specialists to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.
Provide comprehensive post-operative care and follow-up.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Participate in clinical education, research, and training programs.
Stay current with advancements in cardiothoracic surgical techniques and technologies.
