Telecommunications Equipment Specialist

Duration: 12+ Months

Responsibilities

Responsible for the installation, monitoring, testing of telecommunications and associated transport equipment per specifications and operational procedures
Performs testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards to include Physical Layer and Logical Layer platforms
Maps, grow, and/or tests transmission equipment FlashWave, Nortel Classic, Digital Cross Connect, etc.
Map routers, bridges, multiplexers, concentrators, etc.
Create or perform migrations to new and existing Carriers such as PVC/EVC;s on Various routers; utilizes remote test systems to isolate and resolve continuity problems
Coordinates the test and turn up of service with all involved providers until the customers service is up and working
