●      Title: Contract Psychiatrist (Inpatient Forensic / Correctional)

●      Location: Adult men’s state correctional facility – Stockton, CA

●      Contract Type: 6–12 month relief contract (ASAP start)

●      Schedule: In-person, Mon-Thurs or Tues–Fri, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (4x10s) for at least 6 months

●      Setting: Adult men’s inpatient-level psychiatric unit in a forensic / correctional environment

Top qualifications:

●      MD or DO required ; Board Certified / Board Eligible in Psychiatry .

●      Active California medical license and active California DEA .

●     At least 12 months of adult psychiatry experience in the last 3 years (inpatient or high-acuity preferred).

●      BLS certification and medical malpractice insurance required.

●     Experience in correctional / forensic psychiatry and comfort with high-acuity, justice-involved patients.

●     Familiarity with Cerner EHR .

This assignment is at an adult men’s correctional facility in Stockton, California , serving patients with inpatient-level psychiatric needs . You will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care within a secure, multidisciplinary environment.

Key Details & Requirements

●      Start date: ASAP .

●      Schedule: In-person Mon-Thurs or Tues–Fri, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. , minimum 6-month commitment (4x10 schedule).

●      EHR: Cerner EHR —prior experience preferred.

●      Orientation: Up to 40 hours of orientation may be required.

●      Compliance & Screening:

○      Criminal background check required.

○      Drug test required.

○      CALPERS affidavit required.
