Scheduler- Medical Oncology Unit

The Oncology Scheduler is responsible for performing secretarial, clerical, communication, customer service, basic medical terminology, Front Office Oncology scheduling, interacting directly with the Oncologists and clinical oncology staff. Personnel in this position must understand and operate information systems software including, but not limited to Scheduling, One Content and Fax system. This position is also be responsible for exercising professional judgment while performing services in a demeanor complimentary to customer service and medical ethics. Requires successful interaction with child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age specific groups. Patient care responsibility for the reception waiting area, when called upon during a disaster recall situation and at other times (when in the best interest of patient care) as requested. Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Previous experience in a medical setting involving clerical and basic medical terminology preferred. Minimum one year experience in medical office setting required.
