Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) – Primary Care

Location: Auburndale, FL 33823

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide evidence-based primary and family healthcare services at MinuteClinic locations in Auburndale and Lakeland, Florida. The ideal candidate will have recent primary care or urgent care experience and be comfortable delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care in a collaborative clinical environment.

Candidates must have at least one year of recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care, family medicine, or urgent care. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary and family care, including patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment, and management of health conditions.
• Conduct routine examinations, health screenings, and diagnostic testing.
• Develop treatment plans and provide health counseling, preventive care, and chronic disease management.
• Educate patients on healthy lifestyle choices and encourage active participation in their healthcare.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.
• Complete patient follow-ups, verify insurance, collect payments, and manage appointments.
• Assist with clinic opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
• Collaborate with the dedicated clinical care team to improve outcomes for the patient population.
• Perform administrative and clinical duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Active Florida APRN/NP license in good standing, without current or prior disciplinary actions.
• Minimum of one year of recent Nurse Practitioner experience in primary care, family medicine, or urgent care.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Working knowledge of chronic disease management and quality measurement.
• Experience with electronic medical records or electronic medical systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to practice autonomously, work independently, and collaborate with a clinical care team.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses if needed.
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Schedule and Work Requirements

• Full-time position averaging 38 hours per week.
• Must be local to the Auburndale/Lakeland, Florida area.
• Must be willing to float between the Auburndale and Lakeland clinics.
• Typically requires working three out of every six weekends, with possible holiday rotations.
• An on-call rotation may be required.
• On-site, patient-facing position.
• DEA registration may be required during onboarding, depending on applicable requirements.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.
