The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probation and Parole, is recruiting for a Pretrial Services Officer 3 position for the Palmer Pretrial Office located in Palmer, Alaska.

The Pretrial Services Officer III (PSO III) is a supervisory class with substantial responsibility for the exercise of independent judgment in employing, disciplining, or adjudicating grievances of subordinates. This is a first line supervisor responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Palmer Pretrial Office. The PSO III plans, manages, directs, and oversees pretrial work for the office, and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the work performed by staff. PO III's assign and review work and evaluate performance and methods.

Who We Are Looking For: We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies: adaptability, attention to detail, decision making, analytical thinking/problem solving.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field. And two years of professional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, public safety, law enforcement or corrections. Or substitution: six years in any combination of postsecondary education from an accredited college and paraprofessional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, criminal investigation, public safety, law enforcement or corrections.

Additional Required Information: A full criminal history check is required for all applicants. You will not move forward in the process without completing and submitting your notarized F-3 Personal History Statement Form. As part of the personal history, applicants will be required to submit copies of the following documents: certified Highschool/GED transcripts (must be received directly from certifying institution and show date of graduation), birth certificate or valid passport, HS Foreign Equivalency Evaluation, if applicable, naturalization certificate, if applicable, DD-214 form, if applicable (must show date and type of discharge and reason for separation narrative for all periods of service in each branch of the military, such as the DD-214 Long Form and NGB-22 Form), military evaluations, if applicable, copy of previous Correctional Officer Academy Transcripts identifying the total number of hours attended.
