Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and personable Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our family medicine practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Perfect for a part-time college student looking to gain some experience in the medical field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a warm and friendly manner.
• Manage the check-in and check-out process for patients, ensuring all necessary information is collected and accurately entered into the system.
• Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages and providing information as needed.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments, coordinating with medical staff to optimize the schedule.
• Verify patient insurance information.
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and faxing documents.
• Handle patient inquiries and provide information about the practice's services.
• Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and address any immediate needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager to support the practice.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Friendly and professional demeanor with a focus on patient satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• The role may involve occasional lifting of office supplies and materials.
