Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures, demonstrating competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. The role includes preparing and maintaining supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. The technologist supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center and participates in quality improvement activities. Experienced in supporting specialties such as Orthopedics, ENT, General Surgery, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, and Urology. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Certification as required by state and/or center. Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or at least two years of prior surgical technician experience. Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient. Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation. Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed. Excellent team player with strong communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians.
