Job Summary:
This nursing position is located in Ithaca, New York, within a Maternal Child Health department specializing in Labor and Delivery. The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care to a designated group of patients, working collaboratively with clinical team members to deliver comprehensive, person-centered care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; Labor and Delivery nursing experience; postpartum experience preferred; basic knowledge of Maternal Child Health practices and procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU); cross-training in postpartum and NICU care; strong critical thinking skills; ability to develop and implement patient care plans involving families.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The position involves caring for patients across the spectrum from uncomplicated to highly complex cases, with responsibilities including data collection, care planning, and clinical decision-making. The unit features six Labor and Delivery Rooms, two triage rooms, eleven Post Partum Rooms, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and four single-family NICU rooms. Staff may be cross-trained to Labor and Delivery, NICU, or both, with floating expected on a rotational basis to other hospital departments.
