Position: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with ICU experience for a travel position. This role requires expertise in critical care nursing and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:15 - 07:15)

Required Qualifications

Active California RN License
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS
Previous charge experience preferred
Ability to float to ER or Med/Surg if necessary

Key Responsibilities

Assess and manage critically ill patients in the ICU
Perform advanced nursing interventions, including arterial line management, blood product administration, and ventilator management
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
Provide education and support to patients and their families
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic charting system

Unit Details

Staffing and Scheduling: Every Other Weekend Requirement
Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
Daily Census: 4-6 patients
Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
Additional Support: Access to physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy support

Skills and Competencies

Expertise in managing ventilated patients and administering IV sedatives
Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage dysrhythmias
Experience with infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs, as well as phlebotomy

Location

This position is located in California.
