The position is hybrid. Location Okemos, MI – Hybrid Position. Position Description Research, prepare and submit regulatory filings to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and requirements for Delta Dental of Michigan and its affiliates. Primary Job Responsibilities Research, prepare and submit various form and rate filings for dental, vision, life, disability and Medicare supplement products to insurance departments. Prepare and submit network, advertising and other miscellaneous regulatory filings for review and approval. Research compliance issues impacting forms, operations and other functional areas, and maintain a database of legal and compliance laws and regulations. Communicate with state insurance department officials regarding statutes and regulations; handle correspondence and secure approval of filings in a timely fashion. Provide timely communication to affected internal business departments on status of filings in progress. Support other department members, including developing recommendations on contract language and providing guidance on filings via SERFF or other portals. Implement projects, coordinate objectives, monitor task completion, and recommend solutions to regulatory issues and filings. Assist in monitoring state regulatory, legislative and political developments, analyze potential impact and prepare recommended responses. Perform other related duties as necessary to complete primary responsibilities. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies or a related field and three years’ legal or compliance experience, preferably in life & health insurance industry. Experience with rate and form filings preferred. Knowledge of legal research tools such as NILS and Westlaw. Knowledge of NAIC rules and regulations and SERFF. Experience dealing with departments of insurance preferred. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail, ability to multitask, work under deadlines and adapt to changing priorities on short notice.
