Consumer Real Estate Lender & Credit Analyst

Major Function :

Responsible for compliance and origination of real estate loans. Will also perform independent analysis for commercial loan requests for the purpose of recommending approval, denial, or alternative structures. Documents and tests the ongoing performance of borrowers and guarantors.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides high level of quality service to customers by taking loan applications, locking in rates, and closing loans.
  • Develops business by establishing new contacts and maintaining good public relations.
  • Maintains working knowledge of, and ensures bank compliance with laws, regulations and policies.
  • Originates consumer loans, including home equity loans and home equity lines of credit.
  • Works closely with the Loan Officers to process requests for financing from inception through payoff, including renewals and modifications of existing loans and new requests.
  • Utilizes an optical Loan Documentation system to file, store, and manage information of all types.
  • Analyzes year-end and interim financial statements, including performance ratios.
  • Researches industry specific information from outside sources.
  • Reviews compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to the commercial lending function and internal loan policy.
  • Prepares written commercial loan analysis in consultation with the Loan Officers.
  • Applies established procedures for disbursing loan proceeds over the life of construction and development loans. Ensures that equity injections are tracked and received.
  • Performs on-site collateral audits for existing and prospective customers preparing written audit findings and recommendations.
  • Prepares reports for Management and the Board as assigned.
  • Provides high level of quality service to our existing customer base.
  • Assists other employees/departments/branches to promote teamwork and good communication.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related degree.
  • 3+ years of bank related experience.
  • Previous experience in real estate underwriting and origination preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations.
  • Foundation in accounting principles as they relate to banking.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
  • Basic computer literacy with knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Windows Operating System and Office applications).
  • Well organized, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently or in team environment.
  • Strong reading, writing, and basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be registered under the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
