About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in level 3 trauma or higher License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, De-escalation course Must-Have: Basic Emergency Department skills, experience with trauma, autonomy, time management, critical thinking skills Description: TotalMed Interviews - Manager Final Approval. Unit Information: 36 beds plus 10 vertical and 3 trauma bays. Average patient volume is 149-155 patients per day. Patient types include traumas, MIs/STEMIs, strokes, DKA, sepsis, respiratory, GI, liver, and kidney issues, behavioral health, CIWA, and critical patients. Cares for both pediatric and adult patients (PICU not on site; patients transferred as needed). Patient ratios are RN: 1:1-4 based on pod and acuity. Support within the department includes PCT, Charge RN, Clinical Coordinator, MD/DO within each pod, residents, RT, ED Pharmacy until 2 AM, ICU Pharmacy coverage after 2 AM, EMTs and Paramedics, Case Management, SANE, Clinical Coordinator and RN, Radiology within ED, Trauma Program within ED, Security within ED (24/7), and a Flight team (fixed flights and helicopter). Technology and equipment include EMR, IV Pump, and Med dispensing systems. Unit-specific equipment includes Belmont rapid infuser, trauma cases, forensic kits, intubation kits, and code carts. No floating to other units. Scheduling includes a weekend rotation of 4 out of 8 weekend shifts per month. On-call requirement of 1 shift per month with a 20-minute arrival requirement. Holiday expectations include 1-2 holidays based on need. RTO must be approved by management in advance. Scrub color can be any, with no logos, denim, or camo allowed.
