Project Manager II – Program Operations The Department of Community Resources “Follow Your Calling, Find Your Career” Hiring Range: $69,389.00 - $86,736.00. This is an exempt (salary) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. The Department of Community Resources (DCR) through its Community Resource Center, supports the core departments of Mecklenburg County Health and Human Services (HHS) in doing their business through an integrated service delivery model of subject‑matter experts from each core department and community partners who provide services to County residents in our HHS Community Resource Center. In addition, DCR is responsible for administering Child Support Services, Economic Services, MeckSuccess, HOMES, and Unified Workforce Development programs, as well as Integrated Health and Human Services Mail Services. Position Summary Mecklenburg County's Department of Community Resources is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Project Manager II to serve as a central point of coordination across Business Operations. Working closely with Business Managers, Management Analysts, program staff and internal and external stakeholders, this role ensures projects are executed on time, within scope and aligned with divisional priorities - spanning IT initiatives, enterprise document management, Automated Data Processing Plans, policy management, staff relocation projects, vendor coordination enterprise-wide administrative projects, and other projects/tasks as needed. The Project Manager II will report directly to the Business Manager. Location 301 Billingsley Road Charlotte, NC 28211 Please Note:This will be an in-office position (telework not available) Essential Functions Lead and manage individual projects which effect the entire County and may or may not be technical in nature Collect, analyze and report data regarding all projects managed within the organization Create and support training and toolsets utilized by all official Project Managers and non-official Project Managers throughout the county Governance of all projects within the county, insuring compliance and audit controls are active and working Manage coordination of projects which include reporting, dash boarding, and other administrative functions of projects Coordinate the work activities for multiple functions to ensure satisfying delivery Responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle: planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery Escalate issues that impact timing or budget to management and works with staffing coordinator to obtain additional resources as needed during project lifecycle Track progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepares reports to senior management Minimum Qualifications Experience: Four years of experience in Project Management or as a Project Coordinator Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management or related field Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted:Yes Preferred Qualifications PMP Certification - Project Management Professional Lean Six Sigma Licenses and Certifications May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License May require County Driving Privileges Project Management Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of: Project management principles, methodologies, and research practices.
