CT Technologist - 24 Hours Weekly - Day ShiftSign On Bonus: Up to $6,000Schedule: 10 or 12 hour shifts, Start times of 7AM or 8AM, Rotating Weekends and HolidaysPart-Time Benefit EligibleUnder general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Performs related duties as required.Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patient for the examination.Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examination. Obtains additional information about the patient medical history, as necessary.Prepares procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies.Analyzes anatomical structure of patient, sets up equipment and performs the CT scan.Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.Administers intravenous contrast media to including utilization of power injectors. Monitors patient for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care to patient if a reaction should occur.Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure to be performed. Ensures the adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.Assists Radiologist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.Performs all imaging procedures by demonstrating the principles of radiation protection: may involve shielding of patients, selection of appropriate equipment settings to reduction dose, using other ALARA techniques, etc.Resolves any/all image exceptions and ensures high quality image delivery into PACS; including viewing of images into PACS and confirming image/series counts. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warrantedCompletes all study indexing; including study begin, study end, and the completion of the study in the Radiology Information SystemReviews and confirms as necessary with Radiologist clinical protocols before performing studyDemonstrates on a consistent basis Team member standards of excellence including AIDET, open communication, responding in a timely manner, displaying a positive attitude, fostering innovation, respecting diversity, etc.Performs all documentation in the medical record as necessary, as well as within the radiology information system to support all clinical and billing functions.Education/Experience Required:High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.Must maintain the required hours of continued education.Healthcare Provider certification required. (BCLS)BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.Certifications/Licensures Required:Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.NMTCB(CD Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Must be registered in Computer Tomography within 12 months of date of hire.Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.
