Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized assessments and observation methods.
- Design individualized treatment strategies that address immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Implement personalized speech therapy interventions focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work in tandem with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to establish cohesive treatment plans.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families to encourage progress outside the therapy sessions.
- Conduct speech therapy evaluations and treatments for inpatients when necessary, ensuring uninterrupted care throughout the therapeutic process.
- Maintain meticulous, up-to-date documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in continuous learning and peer collaboration to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) prior to obtaining ASHA certification is required.
Certifications Required
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
