Job Summary The Human Resources Professional Mentor will mentor and guide our HR staff and interns. With experience in HR practices, recruiting, talent management, and organizational development, they will empower their mentees to excel in their roles. By fostering professional growth, ethical conduct, and strategic thinking, they'll contribute to our mission of restoring hope and supporting our team. Volunteer positions are year-long requirements. Volunteer positions are unpaid. The volunteer is expected to work approximately 5-10 hours/week. Attendance is required at a 2-hour long All Staff Meeting on Tuesdays at 10:00 AM PST and a 2-hour long department meeting on Tuesdays at 1:00 PM PST. Responsibilities and Duties Supervise and mentor 5–10 HR interns through ongoing guidance, feedback, and professional development. Support staff in career progression, learning opportunities, and skill enhancement. Provide insight into recruitment practices, employee relations, and HR policies. HR Operations & Strategic Development — 40% Assist in the development and daily operations of the HR department, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and offboarding. Design and implement procedures and strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Develop evaluation methods to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Training, Support & Administration — 20% Develop and oversee departmental training initiatives and professional development opportunities. Provide administrative support and guidance to the executive director, management team, and staff on complex or sensitive HR matters. Required Background in human resources, organizational development, or related fields. Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration with a concentration in HR, or a related field such as Psychology or Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Ability to function effectively in a virtual environment, including access to appropriate technology, a reliable internet connection, and proficiency with Microsoft Teams. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Knowledge of employment laws, compliance standards, and HR best practices. Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills. All activities for the Intern use remote access using Microsoft Teams. Interns are required to have a computer compatible with this software. Thaddeus makes every effort to hold interactive group meetings to foster communication and teamwork using remote workspaces. Foster ethical decision-making, professionalism, and strategic thinking within HR-related responsibilities.
