Senior Director, Associate General Counsel - Securities Regulation

Senior Director & Associate General Counsel – Securities Clearing The Senior Director & Associate General Counsel – Securities Clearing will provide specialized in‑house legal support to CME Securities Clearing’s staff and management team with respect to existing regulatory requirements and new regulatory developments applicable to CMESC and its participants. Responsibilities Report directly to the Head of Legal and provide legal and regulatory leadership to the business. Support SEC‑regulated clearing houses or intermediaries on clearing regulatory issues. Work independently and with cross‑functional teams to provide legal and regulatory support for CMESC operations, risk management, and internal governance. Provide regulatory support for new CMESC initiatives, assist in product design and implementation, and coordinate clearing services and banking arrangements with internal legal teams and external counsel. Engage with regulatory bodies on behalf of CMESC. Ensure rules, policies, and procedures align with internal and regulatory requirements and best practices. Draft rules and related submissions, facilitate internal corporate review and approval, submit rules to external regulators, and interact with regulators during the review process. Monitor both domestic and international regulatory developments that directly or indirectly impact CMESC; evaluate impacts and develop strategies, draft comment letters where appropriate, and work with industry groups and regulators to promote effective regulatory policies. Qualifications Experience supporting SEC‑regulated clearing houses or intermediaries on clearing regulatory issues. Strong knowledge of securities clearing regulations and risk management. Ability to work independently and with cross‑functional teams. Excellent drafting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Compensation and Benefits Pay ranges: Chicago: $177,100–$295,100; New York/New Jersey: $177,100–$295,100. Actual salary will depend on relevant experience, skills, education, and internal comparison.
