Controls Programmer - South Amboy, NJ - $100,000-$130,000 (DOE) About the Opportunity: A respected HVAC Mechanical and Building Automation contractor in North New Jersey is looking for a talented Controls Programmer to support their expanding BAS portfolio. This position combines office programming work with occasional field coordination, offering a great chance to take full ownership of controls development across a wide range of project environments, including healthcare, commercial buildings, data centers, and educational facilities. Title: Controls Programmer Location: South Amboy, NJ Work Environment: Primarily office-based with periodic field interaction Status: Full-Time Ideal Candidate: 5+ years of hands-on experience as a BAS Controls Programmer or related position Proficiency in Tridium N4 (preferred), BACnet, and other open protocols Background with systems such as Distech, Johnson Metasys, Honeywell, Trane Tracer, and Carrier Strong understanding of control sequences, system architecture, and database development Skilled in commissioning, point-to-point checkout, troubleshooting, and field validation Comfortable communicating with end users, facility teams, and building stakeholders Ability to manage multiple programming assignments independently from concept to completion Key Responsibilities: Develop custom applications using standard libraries or by creating new program logic Build controls databases and graphical user interfaces (e.g., Tridium front-end systems) Enhance and update existing BAS programs for improved functionality Verify programming accuracy and alignment with project requirements and commissioning steps Partner with the service team, technicians, and subcontractors during project execution Provide ongoing technical assistance, updates, and system adjustments as needed About the Company: Established: More than 30 years ago Markets Served: Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Commercial, Education, Retail, Data Centers, Warehousing, Hospitality Services: Mechanical Contracting, Building Automation, Energy Solutions, IAQ, Design-Build Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 (DOE) Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Life Insurance Retirement: 401(k) with Employer Match Tools: Company Laptop Provided If you’re seeking a programming-focused BAS role with stability, professional growth, and the ability to make a direct impact, this opportunity is an excellent match. #J-18808-Ljbffr
