Employment Requirements Minimum Requirements for Employment You must have or be able to obtain a valid Wyoming Driver's License. High school graduate or GED certificate of equivalence Be able to legally possess a firearm under State and Federal law. Any drug use/involvement is subject to review to determine suitability for employment Complete all phases of the hiring process. Recommended Preparation for Employment Two years college-level work in police science, law enforcement criminology or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference given to Wyoming POST certified or certifiable officers. Necessary Skills and Abilities Include Knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques and equipment. Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and determine the proper course of action. Ability to perform work requiring good physical condition. Ability to communicate effectively.
