Advance educational pre eminence by delivering an exceptional Pediatric Cardiology fellowship program and providing outstanding teaching and mentorship to residents, medical students, and all trainees. Promote meaningful collaboration and build strong, synergistic partnerships with other divisions within the Department of Pediatrics and across departments at the University of Washington to enhance interdisciplinary care, research, and education. Strengthen and refine the regional clinical strategy by optimizing outpatient services and expanding access at satellite locations to better serve children and families across the region. Seattle Children’s Heart Center Highlights Consistently ranked for more than ten years by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top Pediatric Cardiology and heart surgery programs in the country. One of the highest 3-year heart transplant survival rates in the country and an Optum’s Clinical Sciences Institute Center of Excellence. With more than 500 procedures annually, the program performs mechanical cardiac assist implantation including Impella, Berlin Heart, HeartMate III, and ECMO to support the SCH heart failure program and performs heart transplantation in patients ranging from neonates to complex multi-redo Fontan patents. Advanced suite of imaging resources including, but not limited to 3-D imaging, cardiacMRI,CT andechocardiography. Established hybrid procedures program and one of the most comprehensiveventricular assist device(VAD) programs in the nation and 1 of only 2 sites on the West Coast selected for the Pumps for Kids, Infants and Neonates (PumpKIN) trial. Qualifications The successful candidate for the Division of Pediatric Cardiology must be a nationally distinguished academic cardiologist, have strong administrative skills, a track record for successfully mentoring early career faculty in their scholarly pursuits, and an established research program that includes demonstrated productivity and an ability to attract research funding. Eligible candidates will have earned an MD, DO or (foreign equivalent), be board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology, have experience and qualifications for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, on the faculty scientist or clinician scholar pathway, and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
