Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift with 3 shifts of 12 hours each.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while participating in patient rehabilitation programs and effectively collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families for effective care planning.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and provide patient education anticipating discharge needs.
• Ensure communication of pertinent patient status changes among care providers for continuity and safety.
• Supervise and direct ancillary nursing personnel, training and supporting staff effectively.
• Promote personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in team building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Monitor supply use and care delivery efficiency while maintaining a focus on quality patient outcomes.
• Assume charge responsibility as needed following orientation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is highly desired.
