Maintenance / Mechatronics Manager

HALCON Furniture, located in Stewartville, MN, manufactures award-winning, modern office furniture of the highest quality. To meet increased demand for our innovative products, we are currently seeking a Maintenance / Mechatronics Manager to join our growing company. This management role is responsible for overseeing and participating in maintenance operations under the direction of the Director of Maintenance by leading and developing the maintenance team, and ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of the facility’s mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong maintenance expertise, demonstrated supervisory or management experience, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement, equipment uptime, and workplace safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Maintenance with management of maintenance operations, including daily priorities, work assignments, team coverage, and response to equipment or facility issues.
• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, providing direction, performance feedback, training support, and accountability for safe and effective work practices.
• Oversee and participate in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems.
• Ensure preventive maintenance activities are planned, completed, documented, and continuously improved to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Partner with production, engineering, and leadership teams to prioritize maintenance work, resolve recurring issues, and support business needs.
• Ensure grounds, buildings, equipment, and facility systems are maintained to optimize appearance, function, safety, and operational readiness.
• Provide technical guidance for diagnosing and repairing ductwork, plumbing, minor facility electrical systems, and other maintenance-related issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation to support troubleshooting and project execution.
• Use PLCs and related controls knowledge to support troubleshooting, improve machine performance, and recommend or implement logic modifications as appropriate.
• Support quality by ensuring equipment adjustments, inspections, and measurements are completed accurately using appropriate tools and methods.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and HALCON safety standards, reinforcing safe work practices and promptly addressing hazards.
• Ensure maintenance activities, repairs, asset records, and related documentation meet internal controls and asset management expectations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, equipment reliability enhancements, and maintenance efficiency, and help drive implementation.
• Work independently and collaboratively while maintaining a strong sense of urgency, professionalism, and ownership for department results.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or related post-secondary training preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required; additional experience in multi-craft maintenance, mechatronics preferred.
• CMM certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Experience with ERP and/or CMMS systems, Epicor experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team, prioritize work, communicate effectively, and support accountability in a production environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and facility systems.
• Self-motivated, safety-focused, and willing to work overtime or adjust schedules as needed to support business needs.

Salary Range:

Hours:

Depending upon the position you were hired for, you will be working a general shift. You may be assigned to work other days and/or shifts, as needed, to meet the needs of the business. HALCON may establish, and/or modify work shifts, days, hours and periods, in order to meet operating needs and requirements of the business. When your department schedules overtime, you are expected to work the same hours as the rest of the members of your department. HALCON considers this a “Condition of Employment.”

This position will typically work Monday – Friday with Saturdays as needed to support equipment maintenance and production needs.
