Wound Care NurseThe Wound Care Nurse is responsible for managing and coordinating patient care and wound management in a variety of settings. This role involves working closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive wound care while adhering to established standards and protocols.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate patient care for wound management, including assessments, consultations, and recommendations.Document care provided, including billing and supply discharge.Identify, assess, and prevent complications associated with wounds.Provide continuing education to patients and staff regarding wound care best practices.Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.Utilize phone technology for photo documentation of wounds.Common Diagnoses and Types of Wounds TreatedOstomies, draining wounds, and fistulasPressure ulcersVascular, arterial, and diabetic ulcerationsSkin conditions resulting from incontinence and traumaWound vac managementQualificationsCurrent certifications in BLS and CWON (Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse) are required.Wound Care Certified (WCC) via NAWCO is also required.No previous travel experience is required.Experience RequirementsIdeal candidates must possess a CWON certification and should demonstrate strong wound management skills. Experience in the acute care setting is preferred.Work EnvironmentThis role involves providing inpatient wound care across multiple locations as needed. Shift scheduling consists of 4 days a week, allowing for additional flexibility within the department.Orientation and TrainingComprehensive orientation will be provided across all locations, including training with a preceptor and education on documentation systems.Floating RequirementsThe position may require floating to other facilities within the region, with advance notice when possible.Additional InformationAll candidates must have a valid nursing license for the state in which they will be practicing.Client Details Address 1717 S J St, Tacoma, WA City Tacoma State WA Zip Code 98405
