Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups utilizing standardized assessments and observation strategies.
- Create individualized treatment plans addressing both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions that target communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and physicians, together crafting cohesive care strategies.
- Provide educational support for patients and families to encourage progress beyond clinical settings.
- Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment process.
- Keep detailed and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in your field through ongoing education and peer networking.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Strong command of evidence-based treatment strategies for diverse populations, along with a thorough understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Ability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
