Lead Prep Cook — Bagel Boss Wilmington

Location : Wilmington, NC – Pier 33 Building

Schedule : Full-time — early morning shift, typically wrapped up by early afternoon

Pay : Competitive, plus tips

About the Role

Bagel Boss Wilmington is looking for a lead prep cook to join our small, close-knit team and

help us bring authentic New York–style bagels, schmears, sandwiches, and salads to

Wilmington. If you take pride in running a tight, organized kitchen and enjoy setting the

tone for a team that gets it right every morning, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Arrive early to prep fresh ingredients, spreads, and toppings daily
• Prepare a variety of salads made fresh in-house, such as tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, pasta salad, and potato salad
• Prepare and maintain cream cheese spreads and other in-house recipes to standard
• Keep the prep and kitchen area clean, organized, and up to health and safety standards
• Manage inventory of prep supplies and ingredients, and flag when restocking is needed
• Work closely with the front-of-house and baking teams to keep everything stocked and ready
• Help train new team members as we grow

What We're Looking For

• Comfortable with early-morning hours (this is an early-start role)
• Prior bakery, kitchen, or food service experience preferred — but we're happy to train the right person with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently under time pressure
• A team player with a positive attitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-50 lbs (bags of flour, trays, boxes of frozen bagels, etc.)
• Food handler's certification a plus (or willingness to obtain one)
