Maintenance Engineer

This role requires practicing integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement, and positive interactions with all team members and visitors. You will be responsible for evaluating and identifying potential problems, repairing and maintaining electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment, as well as pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and plumbing systems inside and outside the plant. Additionally, you will install new or relocate old equipment, perform necessary repairs and maintenance to buildings and grounds, clean and repair boilers, and maintain crane systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and identify potential problems, and repair and maintain electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment.
• Evaluate and identify potential problems, and repair and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and plumbing systems inside and outside the plant.
• Install new and relocate old equipment.
• Perform necessary repairs and maintenance to buildings and grounds.
• Clean and repair boilers.
• Identify potential problems, repair, overhaul, and maintain crane systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance as assigned and complete required documentation.
• Perform TIG welding with mild steel and/or stainless steel.
• Involve in project improvements.
• Assist with team meetings.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Capability to obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and maintain it per company and OSHA standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation and proper use of tools.
• Good math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret written and verbal directions.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required; Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance technician tasks.
• Knowledge in mechanical, pneumatics, blueprint reading, PLC troubleshooting, welding, schematic interpretation, industrial maintenance repair.

Work Environment

This position operates within a manufacturing environment, requiring regular activities such as speaking, reading, comprehending, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, grasping, climbing, and bending in a fast-paced production setting. Employees may need to work beyond regular business hours, including weekends. The environment includes exposure to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts, and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. The noise level is loud, necessitating earplugs, hairnets, and steel-toed shoes in accordance with safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.82 - $40.40/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
