Forklift Operator

Our client, Logistics and Warehousing is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be part of the Warehouse Operations department supporting Shipping and Receiving. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and the drive to keep inventory accurate, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Forklift Operator

Location: Portage, IN

Pay Range: $20.45/hour

Shift: 2nd Shift (M-F 4p-12a)

What's the Job?

• Operate powered material handling equipment to load, unload, move, relocate, stack, and count product and materials.
• Check inbound and outbound products to ensure items are free of damage and infestation, and that product code dates are properly recorded.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of product are loaded.
• Maintain accurate records and reports to support inventory accuracy and resolve variances as necessary.
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards, complete daily equipment inspections, and keep the facility's equipment and materials neat, clean, and orderly.

What's Needed?

• Forklift operator certificate or successful completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment.
• Ability to spend 80% of the shift operating powered material handling equipment.
• Basic familiarity with warehousing processes and the ability to follow work procedures and safety rules.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions.
• Ability to work the specified shift schedule (M-F 4p-12a) and support physical work requirements.
