Forklift Operator

Forklift Operator is responsible for operating Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting products/materials. 2nd Shift: 3:00PM - 11:45PM, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to appropriate locations.
• Stacks and stores products in designated areas using a forklift, push-pull, or other powered equipment.
• Pulls and prepares products for shipment by ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded.
• Moves product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers and the production floor.
• Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following the established warehouse safety standards/regulations.
• Immediately report any incidents or accidents involving PIT equipment to a Supervisor/Manager.
• Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.
• Assists in physical inventories.
• Ensures proper stock rotation.
• May require performing picking duties in an efficient manner.
• All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 1 years' experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment.
• Maintain compliance with CTDI's PIT certification requirements.
• Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
• Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office (Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
• Time-management skills
• Written and verbal communication skills

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent work experience

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Warehouse environment

The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs., if necessary

The ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time, if necessary

The ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and reach in a continuous/repetitive capacity, if necessary
