CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT - INPATIENT

Overview Provides direct and indirect patient care to implement treatment programs under direction of an Occupational Therapist in response to physician referrals and in accordance with a plan of care jointly developed. The scope of practice includes training in the following areas: activities of daily living, functional mobility, upper extremity restoration and splinting, cognitive, and perceptual, family and patient education, psychological (both individual and in group setting). Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and ongoing development.
  • Exhibits flexibility by working across multiple venues and adjusting schedules to support departmental needs and mission objectives.
  • Participates in community education initiatives in collaboration with hospital education programs.
  • Recognizes the need for changes in the plan of care and communicates recommendations promptly to the supervising therapist.
  • Promotes continuity of care through accurate documentation and effective verbal communication.
  • Utilizes computer systems proficiently to ensure accurate billing and clinical documentation.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • Safely and effectively transfers patients with significant physical and/or cognitive impairments.
  • Responds appropriately and efficiently to Specific Task Requests.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical competence and sound professional judgment.
Qualifications
  • Prefer two years clinical experience within the last three years.
  • Previous home health or long-term care experience preferred.

* Experience With Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio, Etc. Credentials Essential: * COTA - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant * BLS - Basic Life Saving certification Education Essential:

Beebe Healthcare serves the Sussex County community with a medical center located in beautiful, historic Lewes, Delaware, and convenient outpatient locations throughout the county. Founded in 1916 by two physician brothers, Drs. James Beebe and Richard C. Beebe, the medical center in Lewes is a 210-licensed-bed, not-for-profit seaside community hospital. Beebe's specialized service lines include cardiac and vascular, surgical services, oncology, women's health, and orthopaedic services. Beebe's five satellite campuses offer imaging, physical rehabilitation, and lab services, as well as walk-in care centers. In addition, Beebe offers Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine and Diabetes Management & Medical Nutrition Therapy. With a mission to serve the community, Beebe also offers many free screenings and outreach programs through its Population Health Department; and advanced medical care for those who are recuperating at home through Beebe Home Care Services. Beebe is also training the next generation of nurses through the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing, located behind the Medical Cente ... r in Lewes.
