Job Duties

• Prepare and post journal entries for routine and adjusting transactions
• Perform monthly account reconciliations including bank, balance sheet, and income statement accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
• Prepare financial statement schedules and reports
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responses to inquiries
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Assist with tax filings , including sales tax, property tax, and related documentation
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional accounting certifications or continuing education are beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records and accounting documentation.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience using accounting software, Excel spreadsheets, and enterprise financial systems.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive financial information.
• Must be computer literate, i.e. accounting software, spreadsheet application and word
• Ability to interact with all levels of personnel in a professional manner.
• Ability to always maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounting, financial analysis, auditing, budgeting, or corporate finance is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar accounting software is beneficial.
• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax preparation, compliance, or internal controls is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate professionalism, analytical thinking, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are well positioned for success as a Staff Accountant.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to review detailed financial documents and perform accurate data analysis.
• Ability to occasionally lift office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform normal office duties while maintaining productivity and attention to detail throughout the workday.
