JOB SUMMARYWe are hiring for either a Distribution Lineman or Distribution Lineman Apprentice based on candidates' qualifications.
Performs a variety of duties related to the installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and/or underground distribution systems, transmission facilities, and street light systems to provide continuous and dependable electric service to customers.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY* Performs varied tasks and projects directly related to craft trade. Gathers and analyzes relevant information to develop and implement the best course of action to ensure job is successfully completed in a safe manner. Often works under minimal or no supervision. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher level. Resolves problems through mastery of craft, trade knowledge and principles. Follows established Operating Procedures, Operating Practices and Approved Work Methods to accomplish requirements of job. Possesses career level knowledge to successfully perform job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Climb poles, set poles and string wire, utilizes and operates equipment (e.g., aerial bucket trucks, and other construction equipment), materials, and manpower in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
* Perform substation and operating duties as operating feeder control devices and transmission/distribution switching.
* Operates a variety of electronic and other test equipment with a high degree of efficiency.
* Constructs and maintains overhead and underground distribution or transmission systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
* Investigates and documents events of cut or damaged cable and other company facilities.
* All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTSDistribution Lineman Qualifications:
* High School Diploma/GED and 5 years progressive Lineman experience and completion of OGE Apprentice Program; Or
* High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of equivalent Journey Lineman experience (i.e. Electric Utility certified Journeyman Lineman).
Distribution Lineman Apprentice Qualifications:
* Associate's Degree in a Technical discipline (i.e. Electronics/Engineering Technology/Power Plant Operations/High Voltage/etc); Or
* High School Diploma/GED and a certificate of completion/diploma in Electrical Power Technology, High Voltage, or related Power Line Technology; Or
* High School Diploma/GED and prior military experience for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214 combined with utility line experience; Or
* High School Diploma/GED and utility line experience.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS* This is a DOT Regulated Position - Member will drive a single vehicle, or a truck and trailer combination weighing over 10,001 lbs.
* Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;
* The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component;
* The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;
* The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous materials;
* The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)* Ability to handle multiple tasks.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of utility lighting systems.
* Computer skills with knowledge of MS-Office Suite (e.g., Outlook).
* Knowledge of basic math.
* Mechanical skills and familiarity working with mechanical equipment (e.g., aerial bucket trucks, construction equipment).
* Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to adjust and adapt across varied working conditions.
* Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety requirements and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Demonstrated ability to understand equipment, systems, and processes.
* Demonstrated ability to use common purpose hand tools and other materials of various craft trades.
* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and professionally with team members, leaders, and customers.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnosis problems, and resolve effectively.
* Demonstrated ability to adhere to learn and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
