Government Policy and Practice Attorney (Multiple Michigan Locations)

Managing Member: Varies by Location of Interest Practice Group/Leaders: Government Policy and Practice/Alan Wilk Department/Director: Regulated Industries/Courtney Kissel Dykema's Government Policy & Practice Group is seeking a talented attorney with 5 to 10 years of experience to join its team in Michigan. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in administrative law, regulatory proceedings, and litigation, with a particular interest in energy and utility matters. Candidates should have experience handling contested administrative proceedings, evidentiary hearings, regulatory litigation, administrative appeals, or other complex litigation matters. Experience in energy or utility law, including proceedings before the Michigan Public Service Commission or other regulatory agencies, is strongly preferred but not required. Successful candidates will possess exceptional legal research, writing, and advocacy skills, including the ability to develop case strategy, prepare and examine witnesses, draft substantive briefs and motions, and effectively advocate before administrative agencies and courts. Candidates should also demonstrate sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to develop and maintain trusted client relationships. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated and high-profile energy and regulatory matters involving significant infrastructure projects, contested administrative proceedings, and related litigation and appeals. Candidates must be detail-oriented, capable of managing complex matters in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working collaboratively with attorneys, clients, expert witnesses, consultants, and other professionals. Title will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and may range from Associate to Senior Counsel or Participating Member. A portable book of business is welcome but not required.
