Position Overview The Drafter is a key role, responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, plans, and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software or manual drafting techniques. The ideal candidate is a reliable, trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and autonomy are valued. Responsibilities Prepare project drawings for a variety of Geotechnical and Environmental projects, including, but not limited to, Geotechnical Explorations, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Soil and Groundwater Assessments, and Preliminary Contamination Assessments and/or Monitoring Manage prepared drawings for active projects, and filing of prepared drawings for issued projects Perform calculations, measurements, and estimations to support the drafting process Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in the preparation of drawings Conduct quality checks on drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and provide support during the construction phase. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools Ability to type 45 wpm Previous experience in an A/E/C firm Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria), may or may not be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification) Strong understanding of drafting techniques, standards, and symbols Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form Travel Requirements • This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for occasional off-site meetings, training sessions, or company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business needs. Physical Demands & Work Environment This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment. The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions. The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
