Responsibilities

Hand-finish production parts by deburring and other approved methods to remove excess metal, sharp edges, and surface defects from hardware, materials, and assemblies. Perform assigned duties according to blueprint, work instructions, and established procedures, with guidance and oversight as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform basic deburring, grinding, sanding, and finishing operations on manufactured parts.
  • Use hand tools and basic finishing tools.
  • Use abrasive materials
  • Operate basic finishing equipment
  • Position and manipulate parts safely.
  • Identify defects or conditions outside of acceptable requirements.
  • Follow work instructions, specifications, safety requirements, and established procedures.
  • Properly handle and protect parts to prevent damage during finishing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn additional processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. No prior manufacturing experience required, manufacturing or mechanical experience is a plus. Willingness to learn manufacturing. Ability to use basic hand tools or demonstrate ability to learn their proper use. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to perform repetitive hand-finishing tasks while maintaining quality standards. Reliable attendance and a positive attitude toward learning and teamwork.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and employees are required to wear hearing protection. Safety Glasses and Safety Shoes are required for all employees in this environment.
