Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Travel Registered Nurse to join our Family Birth Place team during a period of increased patient volume. The unit anticipates a high birth census from May through July, averaging 80+ births per month.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience across the continuum of maternal-newborn care, including Labor & Delivery, Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), postpartum care, and couplet care. This role requires a collaborative team player who is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care and exceptional birth experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum periods.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns.
• Perform couplet care for mother and infant.
• Assist with cesarean sections and provide OR and PACU support as needed.
• Care for newborns 32 weeks gestation and older.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, pediatric providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding childbirth, recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning.
• Participate in unit call rotation and weekend coverage.

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts.
• Rotating weekends required.

Required Qualifications

• Current Colorado RN License or Compact RN License in good standing.
• Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Experience with L&D, postpartum, OR, PACU, and couplet care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Required Certifications

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• STABLE Certification
