Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - CVORT

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with Level I Trauma experience for a cardiovascular operating room position at a teaching hospital.

Hospital CVOR unit with floating to General OR and affiliate hospitals required

Day shift, 3x12 hours, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM

Call requirement of 90-120 hours within a 6 week schedule

Cerner charting system used

Performs vascular, thoracic, and cardiac surgery cases including CABG, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, VAD, and valve replacements

Receives pump lines from perfusion and prepares them for cannulation

Minimum 2 years of experience, including at least 1 year of Level I Trauma Center experience

BLS and NBSTSA certification required

License required if applicable

Experience with vascular procedures including AAA repair, atherectomy, and carotid endarterectomy required

Experience with cardiovascular and thoracic procedures such as CABG, TAVR, VAD, and mitral valve replacement

2 supervisor references required

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Must have license in hand prior to start date

First-time travelers accepted if candidate has Level I Trauma experience

Prepares and maintains sterile surgical field and instrumentation for complex cardiovascular and thoracic cases

Assists with transplant procedures including heart and lung, and organ donation cases

Experience in teaching and community hospital settings preferred

Local IN residents are considered local and accepted at a lower pay package for this position

All travelers are required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility

RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval

Must work 2 of 3 major holidays

Prior IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler

Travelers who have accrued 12 months of employment within IU Health must take a break to reset eligibility: 3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents
