Software Development Engineer Test Lead
Industry: Financial Services
Project: Currently have two separate teams on the engagement (one team is assigned to one body of work and a separate team is assigned to another effort). This person will be an individual contributor but project leader (testers will fall under them for the project)
Team composition: Tech Lead – 1; Developer – 3; 1 SDET
The Lead SDET is an engineer who has a development skill set and will be responsible for developing end-to-end automated testing for the application being built. The integration testing will include functional, performance, and security testing. Due to the comprehensive nature of this, a strong Java programming background will be required for the individual that fills this role
- Proven technical leadership?
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills?
- Team-oriented, solutions-driven approach to development and testing?
- Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies?
- Experience with API (RESTful) testing strategies and tools (ex: Postman)?
- Ability to write and understand database queries??(to understand use cases during testing, high level understanding of database to ensure front end corresponds with back end)
- Experience with Github, Bitbucket, JIRA, and/or other continuous integration systems?
- Ability to create technical communication documents
- Tester: running the testing / test cases, building test frameworks
- Lead: validating and reporting to management, more client interaction/product team/BA, understanding acceptance criteria, leading the testing team, recommendations on how to build testing framework
