Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to support a busy outpatient clinical setting. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and care teams to provide direct patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and ensure efficient day-to-day clinic operations. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment while maintaining compliance with clinical, OSHA, and infection control standards.

Location: Providence Village, TX

Contract Length: Minimum 3-month+ temp/contract role (possible extension and/or temp-hire)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST (1-hour lunch)

Hourly pay rate: $ 24.34/hr.


Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting chief complaints and medical history
• Assist physicians and providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Interpret and carry out provider orders within scope of practice
• Administer medications using aseptic technique and monitor patient responses
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection in accordance with CLSI standards
• Maintain lab logs, specimen tracking, and quality control documentation
• Perform EKGs and other basic diagnostic testing as directed (non-interpretive)
• Update patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and in real time
• Manage clinical quality workflows including GAP reports and recall lists
• Coordinate referrals, outpatient testing, and pre-admission requirements
• Scan and file medical documents including labs, imaging, and referral reports into EMR
• Maintain exam rooms, procedure rooms, and clinical areas including cleaning, stocking, and sterilization
• Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA standards, and medication safety protocols
• Maintain equipment logs including refrigerator temperatures, sterilization records, and emergency supply checks
• Handle patient communications including phone messages, medication refill requests, and triage per clinic protocol
• Support patient scheduling, intake coordination, and message routing between staff and providers
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance at all times

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire)
• Active BLS/CPR certification (or within 30 days of hire)
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer literacy and EMR experience
• Ability to remain calm and effective in clinical situations
• Completion of required health screenings and immunization documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on clinical experience working with a licensed provider
• 1+ years of phlebotomy experience
• Experience administering injections
• Familiarity with EMR systems and clinical workflow processes
• Strong communication and patient service skills
