Machine Operator – Lamination

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator – Lamination to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain lamination equipment used to apply decorative laminate surfaces to wood-based materials and components. The ideal candidate has experience in a production environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor lamination machinery according to production schedules and specifications.
• Select and apply appropriate laminate materials, adhesives, and substrates for each job.
• Load and position materials, including MDF, particleboard, plywood, and laminate sheets.
• Adjust machine settings such as temperature, pressure, and cycle times to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect finished products for quality issues, including bubbles, wrinkles, delamination, surface imperfections, and alignment concerns.
• Trim excess laminate and prepare components for the next stage of production.
• Perform in-process quality inspections and make adjustments as needed to maintain product standards.
• Complete routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Accurately record production output, downtime, and quality information.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Assist with other manufacturing duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, production schedules, and measurements.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating lamination, press, woodworking, or panel-processing equipment.
• Experience in cabinet manufacturing, millwork, furniture production, or woodworking industries.
• Forklift certification or forklift operating experience.
• Basic mechanical maintenance and equipment troubleshooting experience.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion.
• Exposure to machinery, noise, dust, adhesives, and other production-related conditions.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines.
