Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Sonography/Ultrasound

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a busy inpatient echocardiography lab, requiring 5+ years of echo experience and 2+ years in a Trauma 1 acute inpatient setting.

Job Details

• Inpatient echocardiography lab at a tertiary care hospital with a Level I trauma center,
• Rotating day shifts including rotating weekends, 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 40 hours per week,
• Overnight call required 2-3 nights per month from 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM, subject to cardiologist approval,
• Daily workload of 7-8 echocardiograms per day,
• Uses EPIC EMR,
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience,
• At least 2 years of acute inpatient echo experience in a Trauma 1 level facility,
• License required if applicable,
• BLS certification required; non-AHA certifications accepted at submission but AHA certification must be completed before start,
• Proficiency in TTEs, stress echocardiograms, and TEEs, with appropriate use of 3D echo and strain imaging,
• In-depth knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology,
• Expertise in optimizing image quality through scanning technique, equipment settings, and contrast agent use,
• Driver's License required for consideration,
• 2 professional references required,

Additional Information

• Perform a wide range of high-quality echo procedures meeting ASE and IAC accreditation standards,
• Manage high-volume workflows in a critical care environment while maintaining diagnostic quality,
• Collaborate with sonographers, cardiologists, and fellows through case reviews, feedback sessions, and educational opportunities,
• Strong time management skills required to balance workload and ensure timely completion of studies,
• Exceptional patient care and communication skills required,
• Candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local,
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions,
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract,
• Candidates who worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this upon consideration,
• Airpods, laptops, and cell phone usage on the unit is prohibited
