Overview:
As a Lab Phlebotomist, you will be the vital link between patients and the laboratory testing process. Responsibilities:

Draw blood samples from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established protocols to ensure safety and specimen integrity.

Prepare and label specimens accurately, adhering to strict quality and safety standards to maintain specimen integrity for laboratory testing.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain necessary signatures, ensuring proper identification and documentation post-venipuncture.

Maintain precise records of all collected specimens, including labeling, documentation, and collection times, in compliance with regulatory standards.

Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns to foster a positive experience.

Follow infection control protocols, safety procedures, and company policies to promote a safe environment for staff and patients alike.

Assist with other clinical tasks as needed, including capillary collections and specimen processing, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.

Maintain organization and cleanliness within the work area, ensuring a professional and welcoming setting.

Participate in ongoing training and development activities to stay current with best practices and certification requirements.

Required Skills:

Proven expertise in phlebotomy, with at least 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Strong knowledge of safety standards, specimen handling, and labeling procedures.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly and build rapport with diverse patient populations.

Ability to work independently and efficiently in high-volume, fast-paced environments.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in documentation.

Basic computer skills, including data entry and record keeping.

Valid phlebotomy certification (preferred but not mandatory; required in specific states such as California, Nevada, and Washington).

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license if travel between locations is required.

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant or paramedic training can enhance your application.

Experience working in a patient service center or retail healthcare environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Willingness to travel across multiple healthcare locations with minimal notice.
