Water Resources Engineering Design Project Manager

Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a highly motivated Water Resources Engineering Design Project Manager within our Stormwater practice . The ideal candidate will combine technical depth in hydrologic/hydraulic (H&H) modeling and stormwater design, with strong project management and client coordination skills. The candidate must have a strong background in the development of stormwater/water resources infrastructure, and the preparation of preliminary engineering reports, design plans, technical specifications, and estimated project costs.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead and manage projects involving stormwater management, flood mitigation, and drainage improvement projects for municipal and regional clients.Oversee design and analysis of stormwater infrastructure including detention/retention basins, open channels, and storm drain networks.Experience in H&H modeling of open and closed drainage systems, including software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ICM, XP-SWMM, PCSWMM, and HY- 8 is a plus.Prepare and review plans, specifications, and construction documents, ensuring quality control and compliance with local, state, and federal standards.Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications.Support permitting efforts and coordinating with regulatory agencies and local jurisdictions .Work independently as well as oversee the work of teams of professionals and CAD designers .Qualifications5 + years’ experience in stormwater managementBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or comparable engineering or applied science degree)Florida Professional Engineer (PE) licenseExperience with a diverse range of software packages such as ICPR/ Stormwise , HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (steady, unsteady flow, and two-dimensional), ArcGIS ArcMap, and the Microsoft office suitePreferred QualificationsExperience with advanced H&H modeling software including Infoworks ICM, XP-SWMM, and ICPR 4, as well as ArcGIS ProCFM Certification and/or experience in floodplain management practicesKnowledge of FEMA RiskMap Program, Guidelines and Standards for Flood Risk Analysis and Mapping, preliminary and post-preliminary processing, and the Mapping Information Platform (MIP)Local experience and/or working relationships with clients in NE and SW Florida regions, including an understanding of FDEP and WMD criteria and permittingAbout Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values ( L earn continuously, E ngage as family, A ct with integrity, D eliver quality, and S erve always).
